Los Carneros de Frontera (The Rams of Frontera)  

 

If you’re in El Hierro at Carnival time you can’t miss the most important event on the island at this time of year, when the young people dress up in rams’ fleeces and chase after anyone game enough to challenge them, covering them in black ink. This event is a combination of both tradition and fun.

Carnival Parade in Valverde  

 

The parade is one of the main events of Carnival in the Canary Islands, and of course it’s an important part of the celebrations in El Hierro. In a permanently festive atmosphere, the participants parade by in a celebration that you’re also invited to, so you can enjoy this exhibition full of local colour and merriment.
